  • Its hard to blog everyday

Monday the 27th- Monday was Cathy’s birthday, I think I said Happy birthday to her at least 50 times that day. As a class we went out to a couple of churches to capture wallpapers and frieze patterns on camera to finish our assignments for friday. The first church we went to was the oldest church in Paris: Saint Germain des Pres. It was an interesting church although kinda rundown looking on the outside. We also went to Saint Sulpice after that. I really liked this church there was a giant out front and the inside of the church was large and beautifully decorated.

Tuesday the 28th- On tuesday we went to the mosque. I honestly felt really uncomfortable there. I always feel uncomfortable in religious buildings but I have grown slightly more familiar with christian and catholic establishments on this trip. Mosques were completely different. The entire atmosphere was focused more on natural things. There were no pictures or sculptures; just patterns and a central garden. Their traditions seemed strange and the tour guide only spoke french so it was very hard to follow. After that we strolled through a zoo and arrived at the Institut du Monde Arabe. There was fantastic view of paris from the rooftop. Also I woke up with chills and hot flashes that got progressively worse througout the day. being sick in paris was the worst. However I slept alot and picked up some cold medicine and was feeling fine by the next day.

Wednesday the 29th- We went to Chateau De Versaille. I actually really liked this tour it wasnt too crowded and the tour guide spoke english and was pretty helpful. There was a couple of frieze patterns around the staircases and random places. Aside from the Math the palace was beautiful. There was a ton of gold leaf and lavishly furnished rooms. The garden was huge though, probably bigger than most parks I have been to. It included a lake and random grass fields.

  • A couple of days recap

We had a tour of the Louvre, the tour guide was awesome although the tour was kind of short. After that we went out to party with the other uw group. That was probably the most fun night in Paris so far. Only downside is I got 3 hours of sleep before class XD

Today we went to Notre Dame, it was my second time going but the tour was a lot more informing than just trying to look at the random sculptures.

We also tried to go to Bob’s juice bar but its closed until september. I am really getting sick of things being closed

Now I am having a picnic in tiffany’s room with anna gabby and anja
